Dear colleagues, we inform you about termination of reception of new reports for the conference. Organization committee.

20-th International Scientific Conference «Mathematical methods in engineering and technologies» (MMET-20)

The conference will take place in Yaroslavl, which is located 280 km north-east of Moscow. Yaroslavl is one of the pearls of the medieval architecture of Russia, where some of the best monuments of ancient architecture can be found. In 2010 our city will celebrate its millennium. Yaroslavl is also the birthplace of several famous Russian mathematicians, namely A. N. Kolmogorov and A. M. Lyapunov.

The conference will be held from May 29 till June 1, 2007 at the Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU). The organisers of the conference are the Federal Agency of Education, the Institute of Numerical Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS), and a number of leading universities and research institutes of Russia. The chairman of the conference is G. I. Marchuk, academician of RAS and Chairmen of the Organising Committee are V. S. Timofeev, President of Moscow State Academy of Fine Chemical Technology and A. A. Lomov, Rector of YSTU.

The main goal of the conference is to discuss the use of mathematical methods in engineering and technologies and modern trends in mathematical and computer support of technological systems.

The international school of young scientists ISYS-12

will take place where the leading scientists will give lectures on problems of numerical mathematics. ISYS will be held in three sections:

  1. Information of systems in technical processes
  2. Intellectualisation of controllable systems and processes
  3. Automation of technical system and processes

Analysis and publication of papers and abstracts of thesis will be provided for the participants of ISYS. The symposium of papers and abstracts will be published in September 2007.

The papers and abstracts submitted to the conference and ISYS should contain new findings. The hard copies of the papers (2-8 pages) and abstracts (1-2 pages) should be submitted to the Organizing Committee of E-20 before January 15, 2007 (105066, Moscow, Basmannaya str., 21/4, MSUIE, faculty , Prof. Balakirev V. S.). The electronic copies of the reports should be sent via e-mail to the following two addresses:, The authors will be notified of the selection of the papers and abstracts during February 2007. In March 2007, the Organizing Committee will accept payments for the publication of the proceedings and the programmes of Conference E-20 and ISYS-12 (150, 190, 250, 360, 480, 620, 780 and 960 rubles for the report of volume 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 pages respectively). The authors will receive invitation cards and programs of the conference and ISYS before May 15, 2007. The proceedings of the conference will be given out to the authors in Yaroslavl on June 1 or in Moscow up until the end of 2007.

Additional information concerning venue, travel and accommodations will be provided later on.

Rules for the authors of papers and abstracts

The text should be typed in MS Word 7.0 — 2000, single spaced, font Times New Roman 13 point size; format of paper 4; margins of 20 mm for all sides. Figures should be printed in black-and-white. For the formulas the mathematical editors (Microsoft Equation 3.0 or MathType 4.0) should be used; style — mathematical. Body type in the mathematical editor — Times New Roman. The sizes of symbols in the mathematical editor: usual — 10 p.s., upper index — 6 p.s., lower index — 5 p.s., large symbols — 16 p.s. The name of the report (no more than 2 lines) should be printed on the first or on the first and second lines of the report with capital letters by font — bold. After that on the next line names of the authors should be printed, on the next line affiliation and electronic address should be typed and then, skipping one line, the body of text comes. In the text the following is not recommended: long introductions, «multi-storey» formulas, proofs, allocation by italics and bold font. The number of references should be printed in square brackets and should be kept to a minimum.
